Regulations

DMAC and NEP: solvents with conditions from 23 Dec 2026.

Knowledge

After 23 December 2026, two industrial solvents, DMAC (N,N-dimethylacetamide) and NEP (1-ethylpyrrolidin-2-one), may only be placed on the market, at a concentration equal to or above 0.3 %, with four figures in their safety data sheet.

It is not a market withdrawal: it is a condition. Regulation (EU) 2025/1090 adds entries 80 and 81 to Annex XVII of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH) and, to manufacture or use these substances, also requires the process to keep workers' exposure below those figures.

In the carousel we go through it step by step: what they are, what is required to place them on the market, the four figures, what changes when manufacturing or using them, the exception for man-made fibres and the full calendar.

Save it for reference: the values and dates are all inside. And tell us: what do you check first, the safety data sheet of each solvent or the concentration in the final mixture?

Educational content, not legal advice: the reference text is published by the Official Journal of the European Union. If you want to check which technical documentation to review for your raw materials, let's talk.

Because knowledge is part of the supply, too.
