Four sectors ask for L-tryptophan. None asks the same question: it always depends on the grade and the applicable use.
In supplements, the annex to Royal Decree 1487/2009 sets, for the food sector, a maximum daily amount of 300 mg for L-tryptophan in food grade. And that is only the first of the four questions.
What decides the use is not the name of the amino acid, but the grade and the rules that each sector applies.
In the carousel we look at it in supplements, cosmetics, agriculture and animal nutrition. Save it for when you next review a tryptophan data sheet.
Let us talk about which grade suits your sector. What do you look at first when you receive an amino acid data sheet: the grade, the intended use or the document that backs it?
Because knowledge is part of the supply, too.
